The demand for analogue products continues to grow and today one of the most iconic analogue brands introduces a new 35mm analogue color film, Harman Phoenix 200.
Phoenix 200 comes from Harman Photo that is an affiliate company of Harman Technology, the company behind perhaps the most iconic analogue brand available today, Ilford.
While Ilford leans back on its analogue black-and-white heritage, Harman Photo takes a leap forward in to the modern era with a brand-new line-up of color film suitable for beginners and seasoned professionals alike.
The film is produced entirely by Harman Technology and manufactured by them in Mobberly, UK in the same facility where Ilford's black and white products are manufactured.
Harman Phoenix is a film perfect for those who like to experiment with analogue film. It has a DX coded cassette and a base sensitivity of ISO 200 but can also be rated from 100 to 400.
It is a film with character that thrives best in good, even light. On brighter days or when shooting into the light, there is a risk of halation. The film is characterized by a strong visible grain and vivid greens and blues.
"There's a noticeable upswing in the desire for analogue products and the distinctive artistic expression facilitated by analogue film” says Rebecca Laanemets, the Product Manager overseeing the majority of analogue products at Focus Nordic.
“It's not only older photographers, but especially a new, younger generation of photographers who are looking for the unique expression that analogue offers and that is difficult to replicate digitally”.
