Oliver Solberg once again showed why he is one of the world's most promising rally drivers, claiming his third consecutive victory at Rally Sweden 2025.
Together with his co-driver Elliott Edmondson, he dominated the competition behind the wheel of his Toyota for the Printsport team, ultimately winning by 42.5 seconds ahead of Finnish driver Roope Korhonen. Mikko Heikkilä finished third, 1:08.36 behind Solberg.
Solberg set the tone on Friday afternoon when he drove flawlessly, establishing a 20-second lead. From there, he gradually extended his gap to the competitors and showed impressive speed on the fast and technical winter roads in Umeå. He was the fastest on 12 out of 18 stages over the weekend, which clearly demonstrated his class and skill behind the wheel.
- It felt amazing! We had a great feeling from the start and were able to build up a solid lead. The team did a fantastic job with the car, and Elliott was flawless with the notes all weekend," said a jubilant Solberg after crossing the finish line at Red Barn Arena.
The victory marked another milestone in Solberg's career, where he once again showed his class on the fast winter stages. He is competing full-time in the WRC-2 class this year and has already solidified himself as one of the big favorites when the championship title is decided at the end of the year.
- It was such a huge relief to take this victory. It felt incredible three years in a row and with a new car. We had worked hard to find the right feeling, which kept improving. I was nervous going into the weekend, but the team had done an amazing job, and it felt so great to give them this result," said Solberg.
He also highlighted the crowd's support and the forests' electric atmosphere. Solberg has become a fan favorite in Umeå after his years there.
- The Umeå crowd and all the Swedish fans—everyone who cheered on the stages—I felt your support. It gave me extra motivation to push and keep the pace up. It was an incredible feeling!"
