A new adventurous camera from Pentax
Pentax continues to develop its popular water- and shock proof compact WG cameras with the introduction of the new WG-90.
The camera comes in the same compact format as previous models and has a 5x optical zoom equivalent to 28mm to 140mm in 35mm format. Thanks to the dynamic zoom range, it is easy to use the camera for everything from landscape and underwater photography to travel photography and portraits.
The camera has a rugged exterior that makes it easy to hold, even when you are wearing gloves in cold weather or under water. The airtight body is not only waterproof down to a depth of 14 meters for up to two hours of continuous operation (IPX 8 class), shockproof against a fall from a height of 1.6 meters and crushproof against weights up to 100kgf.
Inside the camera we find a back-illuminated 16.0 megapixels CMOS image sensor, which produces images with high-sensitivity and low-noise characteristics. An effective image stabilisation allows you to easily photograph or film in low light conditions or underwater.
Just like previous models in the WG series Pentax WG-90 excels in macro photography with a MOD of 1cm and features a six-LED macro lights unit whose maximum illumination intensity has been upgraded to almost twice that of its predecessor. This unit even allows the photographer to adjust the illumination intensity in five levels for improved operability in close-up photography.
The camera is available in black or blue.
