The new Samyang V-AF 20mm T1.9 completes the V-AF series lineup.

The Transcontinenta Group, LK Samyang's distributor in the Benelux, announces the completion of the V-AF series. This series consists of compact cine autofocus lenses. With the introduction of the latest focal length, the Samyang 20mm T1.9, the V-AF series now offers a full range from ultra-wide-angle to telephoto to meet the diverse needs of video and filmmakers.

The large T1.9 aperture of the V-AF 20mm offers an optimal balance between high brightness and compact size. This lens manages to maintain a compact design while offering excellent low-light performance and control over depth of field. The ultra-wide-angle focal length allows content creators to easily capture landscapes, cityscapes, handheld vlogging, and live-streaming. The 20mm lens retains the compact size and light weight of the V-AF series, offering creatives the benefits of convenience and portability. The whole series forms a balanced system with a unified form factor, ideal for use on gimbals and drones.

Compact Cine Autofocus, V-AF series  

LK Samyang's V-AF series is designed to improve ease of use in video production. With the introduction of the V-AF 20mm, in addition to the already existing focal lengths of 24mm, 35mm, 45mm, 75mm T1.9 and 100mm T2.3, the series now offers a total of six cine lenses. Each lens has a consistent form factor and offers uncompromising optical quality and performance. In addition, exclusive accessories such as the Manual Focus Adapter and the recently introduced 1.7x anamorphic MF adapter increase functionality and meet the everyday needs of professionals.

All lenses are designed for videos up to 8K and offer standardized colour tone to save time in post-production. Unique are the two status lights on the front and side of the lens, which display the camera's shooting status, facilitating video content creation even when working alone.

Samyang 1.7x Anamorphic MF Adapter

The 1.7x Anamorphic MF Adapter, in combination with selected Samyang T1.9 V-AF lenses, has the largest aperture. This adapter offers a unique visual aesthetic with majestic anamorphic distortions and dreamy background blur unmatched by other spherical lenses. The 1.7x de-squeeze ratio ensures a suitable aspect ratio for Cinemascope, allowing for extensive panoramic effects even in standard film shooting. This adapter is compatible with V-AF series lenses designed for full-frame sensors, including the 35mm, 45mm, 75mm and 100mm lenses. The V-AF 24mm lens is suitable for use in APS-C and Super 35 mode.

Prices and availability

The new Samyang V-AF 20m T1.9 will soon go on sale at Samyang dealers in the Benelux. The recommended retail price is €649.99 including VAT. The Samyang V-AF Anamorphic Adapter is available from now on for a recommended retail price of €999.99.
