Hasselblad XCD 2.5/25V ultra-wide angle, perfect for night photography.

The Transcontinenta group, Hasselblad's distributor in Benelux, today proudly introduces the Hasselblad XCD 2.5/25V, an ultra-wide-angle lens specifically designed for night photography. With a focal length equivalent to 20mm in full-frame format and a maximum aperture of f/2.5, this lens is designed to capture urban night scapes, starry skies and environmental portraits in an extraordinary way.

The lens combines Hasselblad's legendary optical performance with advanced technologies such as a linear stepper motor for fast and quiet autofocus, and a large-scale leaf shutter that allows flash synchronization at all shutter speeds, up to 1/4000s.

Superior optical performance:

The Hasselblad XCD 25/25V features an advanced optical design comprising thirteen elements in ten groups, including four aspherical elements and three ED elements. This design is tailored to the needs of 100-megapixel resolution cameras, ensuring sharp, clear shots from centre to edges, while effectively suppressing chromatic dispersions. Despite its powerful optical capabilities, the lens maintains a compact build, offering superior resolution and colour fidelity, along with a large aperture that delivers outstanding results even in the most challenging lighting conditions.

Advanced functionalities

In addition to its impressive optical qualities, the XCD 25/25V boasts powerful close-up capabilities, with a minimum focusing distance of just 25 cm and a maximum image scale of 1:5.8. This is ideal for capturing expressive close-ups such as gourmet dishes and flowers. The wide-angle perspective facilitates flexible composition, while the large aperture emphasizes the subject, increasing the expressiveness of the image.

The lens design is a model of elegant control, with a metal body bearing the "V" insignia at one end, while both focus and control rings have the "H" logo subtly engraved on them. These details highlight the classic design language of the Hasselblad XCD V series with refined elegance. The focus ring allows effortless switching between autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF) by simple "pull and push", and intuitive scale markings on the lens provide instant insight into the set distance and depth of field for precise focus control.

Thanks to the linear stepper motor and a lighter, more compact lens group, the Hasselblad XCD 25/25V offers fast and smooth autofocusing. The motor precisely controls the movement of the lens group, ensuring increased precision. The fast movement of the compact lens group also ensures fast focusing.

The lens is equipped with a large-diameter leaf shutter that allows shutter speeds of up to 1/4000s. This allows photographers to use flash to synchronize with all camera shutter speeds, which is a significant advantage in flash photography. Thus, in bright daylight, the flash can be used to darken the surroundings, highlight the subject and capture movement sharply.
