Big changes are coming up for SWB:s young horse event Breeders Trophy. The event will be split over two weeks, starting off with dressage and jumping and eventing the week thereafter. An innovative and creative approach that allows the event to develop for the future. The Dressage Week goes international with a new unique partnership with Saab and the event Saab International Grand Prix.
During week 39 Breeders Trophy in dressage will be held in Flyinge, at the former national stud of Sweden, and alongside the young horse classes, international dressage classes for young riders and seniors in the form of Saab International Grand Prix will take place.
- We are extremely happy and proud of our new partnership with Saab. Now the Swedish dressage breeders really get an opportunity to showcase for the international sport, says Helen Uddefors, president of SWB, Swedish Warmblood Assosiation.
The following week 40, the Breeders Trophy in jumping and eventing will be determined and then supplemented with exciting classes for older horses.
- We are working hard on the concept and will be able to present a solid program shortly. Now there is a different time frame for more jumping classes , says Helen Uddefors.
Breeders Trophy is a young horse system that has existed since 1985 and has caused many Swedish young horses to take the first step towards an international career. Saab International Grand Prix was first presented in 2018 and directly attracted riders such as Patrik Kittel, Cathrine Dufour and the Ramel sisters.
- Within the concept of Breeders Trophy it feels like we found the right arena for our event Saab International Grand Prix. We work for the same goal; To create the best possible conditions for Swedish dressage. The competition will be a place where talent meets talent, says Stefan de Flon, sponsorship manager at Saab.
One of the Breeders Trophy important tasks is to encourage the breeders to long-term training and matching of their youngsters to the sport. And to promote the horses internationally.
- The previous set-up has absolutely met the goals but now we want to take another step. When Saab International Grand Prix is held together with the Breeders Trophy the best of both worlds meet. Some of the world's most promising young horses competing in the same arena as the present and future championship riders. The ambition is that contacts should be established between breeders, owners and riders of a strong Swedish dressage sport today and tomorrow.
- My dream is to see the best Swedish riders on the best Swedish horses, says Helen Uddefors.
