On October 4, SWB will launch its brand-new eventing initiative, Champion of the Champions, debuting during SWB Equestrian Weeks at Flyinge. This showcase competition will bring together the three best combinations from this year’s Breeders Trophy in eventing for 4-6y/o horses, giving the audience the opportunity to see the stars of the future.
The horses will be presented in a condensed format, showing their gaits, show their jumping ability, and performance over cross-country fences. The judging will be carried out by two highly accomplished eventing profiles: Fredrik Bergendorff, Chef d’Équipe of the Swedish national team, and Sara Algotsson Ostholt, Olympic silver medalist and one of Sweden’s most successful eventers.

The initiative is presented in collaboration with Hyperion Stud and awards a prize of SEK 10,000 to the horse crowned Most Promising Eventing Horse – with SEK 5,000 going to the breeder and SEK 5,000 to the owner.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our young eventing horses to a broader audience, in a setting that not only supports the horses’ development but also helps highlight the sport of eventing,” says Fredrik Bergendorff. “It is also an important link in the pathway from the new eventing award at SWB’s young horse test, through the Young Eventing Talent Project and Breeders Trophy, leading up to the Young Horse World Championships and future international championships,” he continues.
