The artist transforms a Porsche into an immersive artwork of drawing and sound

Stockholm Art Week and Porsche present a new Art Car by Swedish artist and sculptor Anders Krisár, transforming the vehicle into an immersive artwork that combines drawing, sculpture and sound. The project will be unveiled during Stockholm Art Week.

For decades, Porsche has maintained an ongoing dialogue with contemporary art through collaborations with artists such as Daniel Arsham and Richard Phillips, alongside iconic cultural moments like Janis Joplin’s famously painted Porsche. In Sweden, the brand has also collaborated with artist Fabian Bergmark. The new commission continues this tradition, inviting Krisár to reinterpret the automobile as both sculptural object and experiential artwork.

Krisár’s Art Car features a collage of drawings by his late father, Mårten Havalai, covering the exterior of a Porsche Macan — a deeply personal project the artist describes as a tribute to him. The car becomes a moving canvas where the drawings extend across the bodywork, merging drawing with the sculptural language of the automobile.

Inside the car, the experience continues with a composed sound work written by Krisár and performed by one of Sweden’s leading pianists, Roland Pöntinen. The recorded piano composition transforms the interior into an intimate listening space, creating a layered encounter between sound, image, and movement.

Presented during Stockholm Art Week, the project reflects a shared interest in experimentation and cross-disciplinary creativity. By bringing together sculpture, drawing and music within the context of automotive design, the Art Car expands the notion of how and where contemporary art can be experienced.

About Anders Krisár
Anders Krisár (b. 1973) is a Stockholm-based sculptor whose work explores fundamental aspects of the human condition through the lens of the body. Known for their formal rigor and precision, his sculptures transform fragments of the human form into psychological landscapes.

His practice explores themes of memory, identity and the passage of time. Working with materials such as polyester, marble and bronze, Krisár combines meticulous craftsmanship with subtle distortions that challenge perceptions of anatomy and presence. His works often oscillate between revealing and concealing, creating objects that are simultaneously beautiful and unsettling.

Largely self-taught, Krisár has exhibited internationally, including at Dom Museum in Vienna and Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Michigan. Krisár is represented by CFHILL in Sweden.
