Right now, the construction of Stockholm's new culture center for the digital generation is entering the final phase and today it is clear that Space will open to the public on November 27, 2021.
Space, in the heart of Stockholm, will be a new and world-unique meeting place that combines gaming, music and content creation on seven floors. Space will also be the world's largest gaming center, with over 400 gaming setups, and home to the Avicii Experience: an immersive tribute exhibition honoring one of the true icons of modern popular culture.
The tickets to the Space Grand Opening on November 27, that are free of charge, will be released today at 1:00 PM on www.space.cc
With over 400 fully equipped gaming setups and access to most of the games on the market, Space will be a unique place for all gamers. For those who want to practice with a team or hold a private event for friends, there are specially furnished bootcamp rooms. At the bottom floors of the building, northern Europe's largest permanent esports arena is being built with room for 650 people where esports tournaments, concerts, inspirational lectures and tech conferences will be held.
- Finally, we can present Space opening date. On November 27, we will open the doors to Stockholm's new meeting place for the most important parts of the digital culture: gaming, music and content creation. On 7500 sqm, we create an inclusive house where people can meet and play, eat at any of our restaurants, participate in esports tournaments or produce music, podcasts and video, says Åsa Caap, Head of Space.
Grand Opening and tickets
During the opening day, November 27, visitors can participate in various tournaments in Space gaming center. The tournaments are hosted by renowned gamers and some of our most well-known Swedish streamers such as Kingeen and ChapMad.
Number of visitors and the layout of the Grand Opening are adjusted according to the guidelines and recommendations provided by the local health authorities.
The tickets can be booked, free of charge, starting today at 1:00pm on www.space.cc
- Gamers and influencers are a part of our biggest and creative industries. We are now, in the heart of Stockholm, creating our own “house” on seven floors where the digital generation can find an outlet for their creativity and gaming interest, says Per Sundin, CEO Pophouse Entertainment, who is presenting Space.
Space Community, found on floors 1-4, is developed specifically for entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing companies to meet and realize their ideas in the tech and digital culture. The idea is to offer a new type of co-working and conference facility for everyone in the digital entertainment industry.
Food and drinks are, in addition to music, tech and gaming, a central part of Space and everywhere in the house there are cafes, bars and our restaurant which is open seven days a week. More information about the restaurant will be presented shortly.
Space is one of Pophouse Entertainments largest investments to date and is in close collaboration with the City of Stockholm, Visit Stockholm, Stockholm Business Region and AMF Fastigheter, who are the owners of the house.
- On November 27, young Stockholmers will have a new and completely unique place for digital creation - a type of meeting place that was previously lacking in Stockholm's cityscape. We are happy and proud that this is happening in the house next to Sergels torg which with its history and with its central location will be an obvious hub for young culture and creativity, says Mats Hederos, CEO at AMF Fastigheter.
