Euro Mine Expo takes gender diversity seriously

null

When the conference at Euro Mine Expo starts on the 14th of June, Skellefteå, Sweden, it is with a quite unique speaker list compared to mining conferences in general.

Seven out of 16 speakers and two out of three moderators will be women – quite unique for a mining conference.

Sven-Erik Österlund, VP LTU Business, one of those responsible for developing the conference program, says: “There are many competent women within the mining industry, and we have not had any problems with the diversity policy.”

This year’s conference at Euro Mine Expo covers important themes, innovation and business development, sustainability in action and the world market for metals. As it is tough times, there is a strong need for innovation and development. “When speakers with different backgrounds give their view on the topics it becomes interesting. Our goal is to facilitate new ideas and opportunities.” says Jaana Tengman, project manager, Euro Mine Expo.

Euro Mine Expo is arranged June 14-16 2016 in Skellefteå, Sweden. The International Trade Fair and Conference for the mining industry and its suppliers will be arranged for the fifth time at the very heart of Sweden’s mining industry. In this region tradition and history go hand in hand with technical development and innovative ideas. Welcome to Sweden, to Skellefteå and to a glimpse of the future of our industry!
