Tamron 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD now available for Nikon Z-mount

Transcontinenta Group, distributor for Tamron in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, announces the new Tamron 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062). This fast-aperture standard zoom lens is designed for Nikon Z-mount full-frame cameras.

The 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062) combines a compact, lightweight design with high image quality and is one of the smallest and lightest lenses in its class. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from everyday snapshots and travel photography to dedicated creative work. The 20-40mm offers a distinctive zoom range. At 20mm, the ultra-wide angle creates a strong sense of depth, for example, in landscape and architectural photography. The 40mm setting is ideal for everyday snapshots and portraits. (When used with an APS-C camera, the lens offers an equivalent zoom range of approximately 30-60mm).

The compact, lightweight design also offers advantages for video shooting. The 20mm focal length is particularly suitable for vlogging and selfies that include plenty of the surroundings. For autofocus, the lens uses Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. This fast, high-precision AF system focuses quickly, silently, and accurately for both still photography and video.

At the 20mm setting, the Minimum Object Distance (MOD) is just 17 centimetres, with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8. This allows you to fill the frame with a flower or butterfly. The ultra-wide 20mm focal length enables wide-angle macro shooting, allowing you to get close to your subject while still including plenty of the surroundings.
