New: Tamron 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD for full-frame Sony FE and Nikon Z

Transcontinenta Group, distributor for Tamron in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, announces the launch of the Tamron 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A078). Designed for portrait and travel photography, this fast-aperture standard zoom is available in full-frame Sony E and Nikon Z mount.

Compact, yet powerful design

Beyond its compact size of just 119.2 mm and 565 g, the 35-100 mm f/2.8 features a carefully refined optical construction comprising 15 elements in 13 groups. This includes XLD, LD and GM elements that suppress chromatic aberration and maintain high resolving power across the zoom range. The lens design also provides an appealing bokeh effect, ensuring that subjects stand out clearly against the background. Tamron has also applied its BBAR-G2 coating to minimise ghosting and flare in backlit scenes. The result is high contrast and stable image quality from 35 mm to 100 mm, even in backlit or high-contrast scenes.

Designed for daily use, this lens has a moisture-resistant design with leak-resistant seals throughout the barrel. The front element is fluorine-coated to repel water and oil, making cleaning easier in outdoor conditions. The unified 67 mm filter thread is compatible with most Tamron mirrorless zoom lenses, making it easier to use filters.

The Tamron VXD linear motor mechanism provides fast and precise autofocus for portraits and moving subjects. With a minimum focus distance of 22 cm at the wide end, the lens supports creative close-up work without the need for additional lenses.

Supports advanced Sony E and Nikon Z camera functions

Over the years, Tamron has designed and produced a wide range of high-quality zoom and prime lenses for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto. Sony users can choose from a range of 22 lenses, and Nikon Z users can choose from 10 lenses. All of these lenses integrate seamlessly with the advanced features of the Sony E and Nikon Z camera systems, such as Eye AF, Hybrid AF, and in-camera corrections for shading, distortion, and chromatic aberration.
