Transcontinenta Group, distributor of LK Samyang in Germany, Austria, and the Benelux, is expanding its L-Mount portfolio with the new Samyang AF 60-180mm F2.8 L.
This fast telephoto zoom lens was developed in collaboration with German optics specialist Schneider-Kreuznach and combines a constant F2.8 aperture with an exceptionally compact and lightweight design.
The lens is part of Samyang’s Compact Zoom Series, which combines high optical performance with low weight and compact dimensions. Following the previously introduced Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 L, the new Samyang 60-180mm L now extends the series into the telephoto range. Weighing only approximately 728 grams, measuring 149 millimetres in length, and featuring a 77mm filter diameter, the lens is significantly more compact and lighter than many conventional telephoto zoom lenses with a constant F2.8 aperture. This makes it particularly suitable for longer shooting sessions, travel and situations where maximum mobility is required.
The constant F2.8 aperture enables reliable shooting even in lower-light conditions and provides excellent control over subject separation from the background.A floating focus system based on a Linear Stepping Motor ensures consistently high image quality throughout the entire focal length range and at different focusing distances. In addition, the lens offers a maximum magnification ratio of 0.26x, or 1:3.8, making it well suited to detailed close-up photography. Weather sealing protects the lens against dust and moisture, supporting reliable use in changing conditions. For fast and convenient operation, the lens features an AF/MF Mode Switch, a Focus Hold Button, and a Zoom Lock Switch.
The new Samyang AF 60-180mm F2.8 L will be available from specialist retailers in Germany, Austria, and the Benelux, from early September at a recommended retail price of €1,049.00, including VAT.
