LK Samyang super-wideangle zoom AF 14-24mm F2.8 now in L-Mount

Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 L

Transcontinenta Group, distributor for LK Samyang in the Benelux and Germany, announces the L-Mount version of the popular Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 FE, the first model in Samyang’s compact zoom series co-developed with the German Schneider-Kreuznach.

Ultra-wideangle madę by Schneider-Kreuznach x LK Samyang

The Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 L is a compact and lightweight super-wide zoom that combines Schneider-Kreuznach’s optical design expertise with LK Samyang’s manufacturing and autofocus technologies. With its launch in April 2025 for the Sony FE mount, the lens introduced a new option in the ultra-wide zoom segment by pairing a fast constant aperture with a compact design and 77mm circular filter compatibility.

Covering a range from 14mm to 24mm, the lens is designed for landscapes, architecture, interiors, nightscapes, and environmental portraiture. At 14mm, it offers a broad angle of view of 114.2º, while 24mm gives photographers added flexibility for a wider range of subjects and compositions. The new L-Mount version retains the same optical formula and key specifications as the original FE mount version for Sony mirrorless cameras. It measures approximately 86.8 mm in length, weighs just 441 grams, and focuses as close as 0.18 meter. The Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 L offers photographers and videomakers with an L-Mount camera like the Leica SL3-S, Panasonic LUMIX S1 IIE, Sigma FP-L, RED Komodo 6K, or Blackmagic PYXIS 6K the same compact ultra-wide zoom option across a wider range of camera systems.

The L-Mount launch is part of LK Samyang’s wider compact zoom strategy. Following the AF 14-24mm F2.8 FE, the line expanded with the AF 24-60mm F2.8 FE, while the AF 60-180mm F2.8 FE has already been pre-announced. Together, these three lenses form a compact F2.8 zoom trio aimed at photographers and filmmakers who want a consistent, portable system.

Filter use without limitations

A key feature of the Samyang AF 14-24mm F2.8 L is its 77mm front filter thread, still rare in this category. It allows photographers and filmmakers to use standard circular filters such as ND, VND, and polarizing filters without the workarounds or huge square filter holders often required with ultra-wide zooms.
