Soya Group, in partnership with a consortium led by MEAG, has completed the acquisition of 12.4% of Stora Enso's forest holdings in Sweden. The acquisition, which was announced in May, is part of Soya Group's strategy to broaden its operations with long-term, sustainable investments.
“For us, forestry is a long-term and sustainable asset class that complements our existing investments. It is about stable value growth and reasonable direct returns, but also about the opportunity to develop solutions in biofuels, carbon storage, wind power and biodiversity in the future,” says Simon White, Deputy CEO of Soya Group.
