COLLABORATION PROJECT FOR MORE EFFICIENT DIGITAL HEALTHCARE

Complex societal challenges can only be solved through collaborative efforts of a large number of actors with varying expertise. The interdisciplinary research project DHINO, Digital Health Innovation, in which Karlstad University and Region Värmland cooperate, is taking on the challenge of increasing the digitalisation of the healthcare sector. HOW TO MAINTAIN POSITIVE CHANGES IN LIFESTYLE AND BEHAVIOUR

Changes in lifestyle and behaviour might be easy to make. But they are often short-lived. So, what can we do to maintain the changes that we have made? This question has been studied by Frida Skarin. In her doctoral thesis, “Positive change for wellbeing: Maintained intervention-induced behaviors and healthier lifestyles”, she looks at the psychological mechanisms of how to maintain a new behaviour. THE HAMRIN FOUNDATION AND KARLSTAD UNIVERSITY PARTNER UP – RESEARCH MEETS PRACTICE TO CREATE NEW KNOWLEDGE

Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University conducts research on services and value creation based on a user perspective, often with an emphasis on customer experiences. In collaboration with The Hamrin Foundation, CTF is now organising a series of seminars where research and industry meet in discussions focused around value creation and the challenges of contemporary society. RESEARCH PROJECT FOR INCREASED INNOVATION POWER IN THE FOOD SECTOR

– Measures taken to reduce the impact on ecosystems are central, and with our long-term knowledge development to reduce food waste the project can make a difference, says Helén Williams.

Helén Williams is an associate professor in Environmental and Energy Systems at the Service Research Center (CTF) and has high expectations on the project, which will begin in the spring 2023 together with Nifa, an industry association for local food and beverage companies in Värmland. Read more.


GREATER INSIGHT INTO HOW THE NEEDS OF OLDER PEOPLE CAN BE MET IN SPATIAL AND SOCIAL PLANNING

The COVID-19 pandemic brought many great challenges for older people in their daily lives. In the study “Nowhere to go – Effects on elderly’s travel during COVID-19”, researchers focus on older people's travel experiences during the pandemic. Read more.
