BODEGÓN 2020 PIGMENTED CERAMICS; WOOD VARIABLE DIMENSIONS OPEN EDITION PAULA CERMENO LEÓN FOR TALLER TARAPACÁ Taller Tarapacá is a design collective founded in 2019 by artist Miguel Andrade Valdez and architect Diana Ortega Garagatti together with industrial designer Paula Cermeño León and textile designer Mozhdeh Matin. The design collective puts top local craftspeople, skilled in working with Peruvian heritage materials and techniques, together with designers to produce editions of textiles, ceramics and wooden furniture for contemporary homes. Taller Tarapacá’s different lines of furniture, textiles and objects merge the sleek minimal design of our times with inspirations from pre-Columbian objects and architecture. Through its production and design, the design collective engages with the community and give agency to the cultural heritage of Peru. With a showroom in Lima, in a house and studio built by Andrade Valdez, the design collective also operates out of Yukay in the Sacred Valley close to Urumbamba.
