2024 March 27, Gothenburg - Zeekr Technology Europe proudly participated in the "Introduce a Girl to Engineering day" (IGE Day) on Friday, March 22nd, hosting approximately 20 young girls aged between 14 and 18 for an enriching experience.

The remarkable initiative, arranged by the organization Womengineer, aimed to inspire and motivate young women and non-binaries to explore opportunities in the engineering sector. As part of the initiative, Zeekr Tech EU opened its doors, providing participants with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the world of engineering in the mobility industry.

The event unfolded with an air of anticipation as Zeekr Technology Europe opened its doors to provide an exclusive peek behind the scenes of engineering in the mobility industry. From captivating sessions led by talented women engineers to hands-on tasks within the company, participants were immersed in a dynamic environment and experienced the cutting-edge knowledge and passion to innovate that defines engineering work at Zeekr Tech EU.

Sofia Ore, one of the mentors and Head of Test Environments at Zeekr Technology Europe, highlights the significance of such initiatives:

“As a manager, I have seen the many benefits of a diverse workplace, but still, there are fewer women who become engineers compared to men. The IGE day gives girls the opportunity to see and understand what an engineer does and will encourage them to develop, maintain, or increase their interest in the field. This will, in the end, lead us to the diverse workplaces everyone should be looking for.”

Through initiatives like IGE Day, Zeekr Tech EU aims to pave the way for aspiring women engineers, empowering them to pursue their passion and succeed in the dynamic world of engineering.
