A complete charging facility with seven charging points has been installed in Gothenburg in just four hours. It is the first commercial installation of Curb (formerly Cablestone), which is a completely new solution for installing charging boxes where the electric cable is pulled through stones instead of underground. This makes the installation significantly faster and costs less to complete.
Waybler Curb is a new, flexible alternative way to install charging boxes in places where several people need to charge. Instead of expensive digging and earthwork, an electric cable is pulled through Curb's patented cable block and can then be connected in parallel between the charging boxes.
Using Curb means lower costs, faster work and reduced disturbances in the surroundings. It also eliminates a number of problems that can arise during excavation such as difficulties with ground conditions, damage to existing installations and the need to divert traffic.
The first commercial installation of Curb, which was carried out on Marieholmsgatan in Gothenburg in collaboration with Svenska Hus, began in the morning and within an hour the entire ground work with Curb for seven charging points had been completed.
Filip Aglöv, product owner for Waybler Curb:
The whole purpose of Curb is to facilitate the installation work. Excavation is riskier, more expensive and takes longer. The fact that we managed to install a ready-to-use facility in under four hours was strong evidence that this really can help electricians and installers.
Waybler Curb consists of two parts - a cross foundation and cable stone. A pedestal or steel tube is placed on the cross foundation and then a charging box with a suitable attachment. In the cable blocks, the electric cable is pulled between the charging boxes. The products are glued to the asphalt and are designed to be able to easily supplement a facility with more stones and charging boxes when the need grows.
Waybler Curb is another innovation from Waybler that facilitates electrification in society and lowers thresholds for more people to charge where they live or work.
