In 2004 Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, introduced TopDown to the market for the first time. In 2024 the TopDown concept celebrates 20 years, while being crowned as Farm Machine of the Year 2024.
In 2024 the combination cultivator Väderstad TopDown celebrates it 20-year anniversary. Launched in 2004, it quickly became a success with its versatility, capable of both deep- and shallow cultivation as well as reconsolidation in one pass. The machine has received numerous updates since 2004 and has set new trends within agriculture.
- TopDown is one of the most versatile combination cultivators in the world. This versatility is key to success for professional farmers optimizing the tillage results to their needs and conditions. We are proud to look back at the development of TopDown, as well as very excited about its future. TopDown is as relevant today as it was when it was launched to the market in 2004, says Wolfram Hastolz, Commercial Manager Tillage equipment, at Väderstad.
During Agritechnica last November, TopDown with E-services was announced as the winner of the Farm Machine of the Year 2024 award in the tillage category, voted by a jury from 16 agricultural magazines from all over Europe.
- With the introduction of E-Services, we take TopDown to the next level. By being able to adapt the tillage depth and reconsolidation intensity in every part of the field depending on conditions and soil types, we further improve the work result, while promoting soil health, saving time and costs, says Wolfram Hastolz.
