Väderstad increases capacity of the Spirit seed drill

Väderstad Spirit

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, increases the hopper capacity of the Spirit seed drills. For model year 2025, the hopper capacity of several models will be increased by over 25%, from 3900- to 5000 litres. This gives farmers the opportunity to increase their field efficiency as well as improve logistics.

Up till now, the larger combi models of the Spirit seed drill family, Spirit 600-900C, are fitted with a 5000 litre hopper, while several other models have a 3900 litre hopper. From October 2024, all Väderstad Spirit seed drills over 6 metre working width, as well as the 4-metre Spirit 400C are upgraded to the 5000 litre hopper.

- The larger hopper provides a higher capacity for the farmers. The 25% volume increase enables longer time between fillings, to thereby increase the field efficiency at seeding, says Björn Jeansson, Commercial Product Manager for Seed drills, at Väderstad.

The pneumatic seed drill Väderstad Spirit carries out levelling, seedbed preparation, reconsolidation, seeding and consolidation in one pass. It is known to provide great precision at high working speeds on the field. To achieve an excellent seed placement in lighter to medium soils, Spirit is equipped with double seed disc coulters.

Spirit 400C, Spirit 600C InLine, Spirit 600S, Spirit 800S and Spirit 900S are equipped with the new 5000-litre hopper from October 2024.
