Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, launches the unique ProDrain disc as an option for the Tempo and Proceed row units. ProDrain is designed to break the soil surface beside the rows, to thereby ensure a weather-resistant surface.
Väderstad introduces the new ProDrain disc as an optional attachment to the closing wheels of the Tempo planter and Proceed precision seed drill. The ProDrain disc is mounted outside the closing wheels, to work the soil on the sides of the seed row.
- When planting in certain conditions, there is a risk that the surface becomes too smooth, increasing the risk of erosion or capping if heavy rain follows. ProDrain is an additional disc mounted outside the ordinary closing wheels, designed to penetrate the field surface on the side of the seed row. This ensures a weather-resistant surface, says Lars Thylén, Commercial Manager Planters, at Väderstad.
ProDrain enhances performance by disturbing the soil surface between the rows, allowing rainwater to drain more efficiently.
- ProDrain helps protect the crops by reducing excess water buildup, ensuring optimal growing conditions even after heavy rainfall, says Lars Thylén.
The new ProDrain disc is available for all Väderstad Tempo and Proceed models, from October 2024. ProDrain is available in two different sizes to fit the choice of closing wheel.
