Urkund, Leader in Plagiarism Prevention, Increases Global Presence
Urkund, leader in plagiarism prevention and text similarity detection services, announced its intentions to expand its global presence this week at the ASU GSV Summit in San Diego.
Founded in 2000, Urkund is the European and Scandinavian market leader and second globally in plagiarism prevention and text similarity detection services. The company offers its web-based subscription services to academic institutions, corporations and governmental entities to support institutional quality and authenticity of work.
As part of its global expansion, Urkund also announced the addition of Eric Gibbs, a seasoned educational technology executive, to lead the expansion. “I’m excited and humbled for this opportunity to expand the reach of Urkund into the North American education market,” said Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs brings more than 18 years of educational technology industry experience, previously serving in high-growth leadership roles at Aplia, Turnitin and Acrobatiq.
Urkund’s Chief Executive Officer, Andreas Ohlson commented “Urkund’s global expansion is the continuation of a detailed strategic growth plan developed and executed together with Procuritas, a Scandinavian Investment Fund, after their 2018 investment. We are very excited to welcome Eric and his deep knowledge of the educational market and channel partners to the team and look forward to the ability to transform that knowledge into actionable results.”
