Mucocort AB today announces that patient enrolment in the clinical study RAS01-M045A has been completed. This marks an important milestone in the development of M045A, a locally applied treatment being evaluated for recurrent aphthous ulcers in the oral cavity.

RAS01-M045A is a clinical study evaluating M045A, a mucoadhesive, biodegradable patch applied directly to aphthous ulcers. The study is designed to evaluate the clinical performance and safety of the product, with a particular focus on pain immediately after application of the patch and over the following hours.

With planned patient enrolment now complete, the study will proceed to final data processing, analysis, and scientific evaluation.

“Completion of patient enrolment represents an important milestone in the clinical development program for M045A. The next step is to finalize data processing and analysis. We look forward to presenting the results once this work is complete,” says Professor Mats Jontell, co-founder of Mucocort and Professor of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology.

The compilation and scientific evaluation of the study data are now underway. Mucocort aims to present overall results from the study in late 2026 or early 2027, followed by publication of the study data in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

The results from RAS01-M045A are expected to play an important role in the continued development of M045A and provide clinical evidence to support upcoming regulatory activities and further product development.
