Think Tank reinvents Airport Backpack series and refreshes TurnStyle Sling

Transcontinenta Group, distributor of Think Tank for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and the Benelux, is expanding the Think Tank lineup with a fully redesigned Airport Backpack Series and a modernized TurnStyle V3 Sling Series.

The new Airport backpacks rework how travelling photographers carry, access, and protect their gear in a hand luggage size. The TurnStyle V3 Sling brings fresh colors, eco-friendly materials, and smarter access to a new generation of photographers on the move.

Airport Backpack series, redesigned for the travelling photographer

The new Airport Backpack series spans four carry-on sized packs, from a compact regional-flight bag to the largest pack that still meets most airline requirements. It also contains a Rolling Backpack to roll or carry, with deployable backpack straps for rough terrain.

The new Airport Backpack Series is built to carry the maximum amount of camera gear in an airplane  carry-on sized bag, now with stronger materials, improved comfort, and smarter organization. The most significant change in this series is a reengineered access and storage system that keeps equipment protected while giving fast entry to laptops, tablets, and travel essentials. All models meet most international and U.S. carry-on requirements, but it is recommended that travelers still check current limits with their airline.

New and improved features

• The computer compartment has been moved from the front pocket to a new rear zippered panel, so the pack can be swung to the front for standing access to a laptop, tablet, or paperwork (Rolling Backpack still carries a laptop in the front panel).
• A new full-width internal divider on the Airport Essentials 26L, Airport Commuter 31L, and Airport Essentials Rolling Backpack splits the main compartment between gear and personal items.
• Three new padded dividers with integrated accessory pockets, plus zippered mesh lid pockets for cords, cards, and batteries.
• Two zippered side pockets with attachment straps replace stretch pockets for securely carrying a tripod or water bottle.
• Upgraded back panel, shoulder straps, and luggage pass-through, with a new hidden security pocket for a passport or cash (not on the Rolling Backpack).
• Refined materials, 420D nylon mini ripstop, 1260D poly ballistics, and 600D polyester, with a 200D two-tone diamond ripstop interior for a sleeker, more premium feel.

What fits in the new Think Tank Airport Backpack Series

The series includes four carry-on-sized packs, from a compact regional-flight bag to the largest pack that still meets most airline requirements. The Airport Essentials 26L is optimized for regional flights and smaller aircraft, fitting standard camera bodies plus 3–5 lenses, including a 300mm f/2.8 attached, and now adds a full-width divider for gear and personal items. The Airport Commuter 31L meets most domestic and international carry-on requirements, fitting gripped bodies and a larger lens kit, including a 400mm f/2.8 attached. The Airport Accelerator 41L is the largest pack that still meets most airline carry-on limits, fitting gripped bodies and an extensive kit up to a 600mm f/4 (unattached) to reduce the risk of checking gear. The Airport Essentials Rolling Backpack can roll or carry, with deployable backpack straps for rough terrain, precision-engineered 80mm wheels with sealed ABEC grade 5 bearings, and a reinforced telescoping handle, carrying two standard bodies, 4–6 lenses, and a 16-inch laptop. Every model fits a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a 10" tablet.
