Zhiyun, a brand best known to filmmakers and videographers for its innovative gimbals, is expanding its product portfolio with a new range of compact COB LED lights for professional content creators. Last year saw the launch of the Zhiyun FIVERAY LED lights, which consisted of a pocket-sized M40 lamp and a F100 rod light. Now they have added the new Zhiyun MOLUS G60 and MOLUS X100 ultra compact COB lights.

The new Zhiyun MOLUS lights are an ultra-compact and portable range designed to work equally well in any situation, whether you're part of a small creative team, a freelancer or an amateur videographer.

The new Zhiyun MOLUS COB lights 

The Zhiyun MOLUS G60 is as small as a Rubik's cube and ultraportable at only 300g, yet produces up to 60W of power at maximum output. It offers a flexible CCT range of 2700K - 6500K, which can be easily adjusted via Bluetooth or an intuitive on-board brightness control. A CRI of ≥96 and a Television Light Consistency Index (TLCI) of ≥97 ensure accurate colour reproduction. For added convenience, the G60 can be powered via a DC power adapter or USB-C.

The Zhiyun MOLUS X100 is the big brother, weighing only 385g and delivering 100W of professional power. The X100's CCT ranges from 2700K-6500K with a CRI≥95 and TLCI≥97. On-the-go content creators can minimize downtime with three ways to power the light, choosing between a grip battery, DC adapter or 100W PD fast charge.

Users can easily adjust the light's colour temperature and brightness to achieve the desired effect via Bluetooth or on-board controls. With music mode on, lightning effects can be triggered by sound. For example, a flash effect for simulated gunshots or changing in time to music.

Zhiyuns new DynaVort Cooling System

Both LEDs use Zhiyun's new DynaVort cooling system. A new, innovative cooling system consisting of a gyroscope-modeled heat sink and a FOC fan to prevent overheating. The technology is based on a fluid dynamics and attitude control algorithm that significantly increases cooling efficiency by intelligently controlling airflow emissions. This means content creators get an ultra-compact LED light that is ready for on-the-go shooting with 100% smooth, flicker-free light output.

New Zhiyun ZY Vega app

The new Zhiyun ZY Vega app can control both the X100 and G60. With this app, content creators have complete control over their lighting, including the ability to fully adjust individual lights and group multiple lights together.

Pricing and delivery

The new Zhiyun MOLUS G60 and MOLUS X100 LED will be available from Zhiyun dealers in the UK and Ireland, the Benelux, and Germany / Austria from the end of March 2023. The Zhiyun MOLUS lights come in five different bundles (see images in the Media bank for the content of each set), depending on the shooting situation, and feature Zhiyun's proprietary ZY mount for attaching light modifiers. An adapter for Bowen's mount is also available.
