New! Insta360 X6: 8K 360° camera and 5K action camera in one

New! Insta360 X6: 8K 360° camera and 5K action camera in one

Transcontinenta Group, distributor for Insta360 in the Benelux and Ireland, introduces the new Insta360 X6. This new camera combines two ways of filming in one compact body: immersive 360° video up to 8K 50 fps and conventional action camera footage up to 5K 60 fps.

The Insta360 X6 is highly versatile: from cycling, mountain biking, and other outdoor and action sports to travel, videography, and everyday content. Whether you are on the move, recording a vlog, or capturing spontaneous moments, the camera adapts to the way you film. Thanks to the new and larger 1-inch sensors with a Triple AIChip system, a maximum video bitrate of 240 Mbps in H.265, extensive slow-motion capabilities, and photos up to 120 megapixels, the Insta360 X6 captures everything with more detail and greater creative freedom.

Two cameras in one

One of the key strengths of the Insta360 X6 is the freedom to choose how you want to film for each shot. In 360° mode, the camera captures everything around you at up to 8K 50 fps. You do not have to keep picking the perfect framing while filming. Afterward, you decide which perspective to use and can create different camera angles from a single recording.

But the X6 is not only a 360° camera. In Flat Mode, it works as a dedicated action camera for ready-to-use wide-angle footage. In this mode, the camera records up to 5K 60 fps. You select your viewing direction in advance and capture the action just like with a conventional action camera, without the need for reframing afterward. This allows you to use the X6 for two different workflows. Film everything around you when maximum creative freedom is important, or use it as an action camera when you want to capture a ready-to-use image directly.

InstaFrame 2.0 mode brings these two workflows even closer together. It allows the camera to record a flat 180-degree video with built-in camera movements and tracking effects, while simultaneously saving a 360° recording that you can still freely reframe later.

Larger 1-inch sensors for more image information

The Insta360 X6 uses two large 1-inch sensors with a Triple AIChip system. The larger sensor area can capture more light and provides the foundation for better image quality in a wide range of conditions. This is particularly noticeable when light levels drop or when a scene contains large differences between bright and dark areas. The camera can capture more information in shadows and highlights, resulting in greater dynamic range and more flexibility in post-production.

For night shooting and low-light situations, the X6 features Insta360’s renowned PureVideo mode. Auto PureVideo can also automatically switch to this optimised recording mode when lighting conditions require it. This makes the camera suitable for everything from bright daylight to evening shooting, and from dark action scenes to concerts.

8K 50 fps 360° video with high bitrate

In 360° mode, the Insta360 X6 records video at up to 8K 50 fps. The higher frame rate makes motion smoother and provides more options when slowing footage down. The maximum video bitrate is now 240 Mbps with H.265 compression. This allows the camera to capture a large amount of image information, which is particularly important with fast-moving subjects, water, leaves, snow, complex textures, and other scenes in which many details change simultaneously.

In addition to 8K 50 fps, the X6 offers 6K up to 60 fps and 4K up to 100 fps in 360° mode. This allows you to choose between maximum resolution and a higher frame rate for each situation.

The new slow-motion champion

Slow motion is one of the strongest capabilities of the Insta360 X6. In 360° mode, the camera records 4K at up to 100 fps. This allows you to slow down fast action while retaining the freedom of a complete 360° recording. In Bullet Time, the X6 goes even further. This creative recording mode supports 4K at up to 240 fps, producing dramatically slowed footage in which the camera appears to move around the subject.

As a traditional action camera, the X6 also offers extensive slow-motion capabilities. In Flat Mode, it records 4K at up to an impressive 120 fps. This makes it possible to smoothly slow down fast action sports, jumps, water sports, motorsports, and other action moments.

The combination of 4K 100 fps in 360°, 4K 120 fps in Flat Mode, and 4K 240 fps Bullet Time makes slow motion an important part of the X6’s creative capabilities.

Photos up to 120 megapixels

Video is not the only area to benefit from higher resolution. The Insta360 X6 captures 360° photos at an ultra-high resolution of up to 120 megapixels, or 15,520 x 7,760 pixels. This provides plenty of detail for new crops and a large-format display of panoramic images.

In Flat Mode, the camera captures photos up to 42 megapixels at a resolution of 6,528 x 6,528 pixels. With a single press of the button, you can therefore capture either highly detailed 360° images or conventional high-resolution photos, depending on the selected camera mode. The high resolution also makes the camera immediately practical for applications such as social media content, travel photography, and project documentation. You can easily create multiple crops from a single image for different platforms without a visible loss of image quality.

First Insta360 X-series camera with internal storage

The Insta360 X6 is the first camera in the X-series with built-in storage. The camera features 64 GB of internal memory, of which 47 GB is available for video and photo recordings.

This means you can start filming immediately, even when you do not have a microSD card with you. For longer recordings, a USH I microSD card can also be used. In the camera menu, you can choose whether files are stored in the internal memory or on the memory card.

Waterproof to 20 metres

The Insta360 X6 is waterproof to a depth of 20 metres without an additional underwater housing. This makes the camera immediately suitable for swimming, snorkelling, surfing, kayaking, and other water sports. For users who want to film deeper underwater, the optional Insta360 X6 Invisible Dive Case Pro is also available.

Wireless audio with Insta360 Mic Pro

The Insta360 X6 is compatible with the Insta360 Mic Pro, creating a complete solution for creators who intend to record high-quality wireless audio alongside video.

The Mic Pro can connect directly to the X6 via Bluetooth. This eliminates the need for a separate receiver on the camera and keeps the setup compact. This is particularly practical for vlogging, interviews, travel videos, and active productions where users would like to keep the amount of equipment attached to the camera to a minimum. The Insta360 Mic Pro supports professional 48kHz wireless audio, 32-bit float internal recording, and AI-powered noise cancelling. Its 32 GB internal memory also provides a separate audio backup.
