This extra detail unlocks powerful post-production freedom, allowing creators to reframe any moment after filming with clarity that rivals traditional flat video. Whether you’re capturing landscapes, sports, travel content, or cinematic sequences, the 8K resolution gives footage the sharpness and colour depth to stand out in any professional workflow.
For smoother motion, the X4 Air supports 5.7K at 60fps, and for dramatic slow-motion, 4K at 100fps. This allows users to choose their ideal frame rate depending on the type of shot, without compromising quality. The ability to capture crisp, stabilized video in virtually any situation is further enhanced by FlowState Stabilization and 360° Horizon Lock, which ensure that even the most dynamic shots remain level and shake-free.
Unlike most action cameras, the Insta360 X4 Air functions as two cameras in one. In addition to full 360° capture, users can switch to Single-Lens Mode when a traditional wide-angle perspective is preferred, for example, during chest-mounted bike rides, skiing, or hiking. This mode now supports smooth 4K60fps video, with an ultra-wide 170° field of view available using the MaxView feature at 4K30fps. This dual approach means that you no longer need separate devices to capture immersive and directed content.
Designed to replace an entire kit, X4 Air lets you film sweeping 360 views, immersive 4K60fps POVs, smooth walk-and-talk vlogs, and dynamic drone-like shots with the Invisible Selfie Stick—without the bulk or setup. For added flexibility, the InstaFrame Mode records both a shareable flat video and a full 360 version simultaneously, so you can post immediately and still have complete freedom to re-edit later.
The Insta360 X4 Air is made for tough conditions, with removable lens guards for extra protection during outdoor use. Standard guards are included, and a premium, scratch-resistant option is also available. Its 2.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass screen is larger, tougher, and works even with gloves. It’s waterproof to 15 metres without a case, and up to 50 metres with the Invisible Dive Case. Cold-weather ready down to -20°C, it’s built for snow, surf, and sand. The new battery powers up to 135 minutes of shooting at 5.7K30fps, meaning fewer battery swaps and more time recording.
The X4 Air offers hands-free operation with gesture and voice commands, plus a Timed Capture feature that starts recording automatically. New and improved creative modes include Me Mode in 4K30fps and 2.7K120fps, Bullet Time at 5.7K120fps, TimeShift, Timelapse, and a Motion ND effect for cinematic motion blur. You can also overlay GPS and fitness data from Garmin or Apple Watch, making it ideal for sports and outdoor use.
Editing 360° footage used to be slow and technical. With the Insta360 X4 Air, it’s quick and simple. The Insta360 app uses AI tools like Auto Edit, FlashCut, and AI Frame to turn raw clips into clean, ready-to-share videos. It finds the best moments, adds transitions, and matches the pace to music, all automatically. When you are ready, use Preset Perspectives, to export reframed clips in seconds, no manual work needed.
The X4 Air also works with Apple, Garmin, and HUAWEI devices, syncing GPS, speed, and movement data straight into your videos. Whether you're tracking a ride or logging a run, your stats, and footage stay perfectly in sync.
The Insta360 X4 Air is available now in the Netherlands from authorized Insta360 dealers at a recommended retail price of €399 including VAT for the Standard bundle. The Starter bundle which includes a 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, Lens Cap, and extra Battery costs €429.00.
