New: Think Tank FocusPoint™ RollTop durable and stylish backpacks

Transcontinenta UK Ltd., Think Tank distributor for the UK and Ireland, announces the launch of the completely new Think Tank FocusPoint™ RollTop Backpack Series. A versatile and sustainably built line designed for photographers who demand both style and functionality in their everyday photography and travel adventures.

The FocusPoint RollTop backpacks blend clean urban looks with the kind of practical design working photographers need. Available in two sizes and four colours, they might pass for regular urban day packs at first glance, but inside they’re built to carry cameras, lenses, and essentials with smart, organized layouts. Each bag uses PFAS-free DWR coatings that offer the same long-lasting water resistance as traditional treatments, without sacrificing durability or performance. The roll-top closure lets you adjust the space to fit your gear, whether you're packing light or loading up. Side and rear access points make sure your kit’s always within easy reach.

Ergonomic support for all-day comfort

Both models feature padded shoulder straps, a removable waist belt, and an adjustable magnetic sternum strap for stability. A ventilated back panel improves airflow, while the roll-top system helps distribute weight more evenly across the shoulders. Beyond camera gear, the Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop series includes space for daily essentials such as a water bottle, notebook, or jacket. Side straps secure a tripod or compact light stand, and internal dividers can be reconfigured to match changing setups.

The FocusPoint RollTop gives fast side and rear access to gear, with straps for a tripod or poles. It includes a padded laptop sleeve (14-inch in the 22L, 16-inch in the 30L), ten organized pockets, a rain cover, and a removable camera insert that converts the bag into a daily pack.

“We wanted to create a bag that transitions effortlessly between everyday life and professional photography,” said Doug Murdoch, CEO, and Lead Product Designer at Think Tank Photo. “The FocusPoint series delivers quick camera access, expandable storage, and premium organisation, all in a sleek and sustainable design.”

Made with sustainable materials

Built with recycled, bluesign® approved, and PFAS-free materials, the FocusPoint series underscores Think Tank’s commitment to sustainability without compromising durability. The bags are made from recycled P600D ripstop, P1260D, and PT300D fabrics, all bluesign® approved and finished with a durable water-repellent (DWR) coating. This coating keeps your gear safe in unexpected weather, while the robust, eco-friendly fabrics ensure long-lasting protection without adding weight. This way, you benefit from both sustainability and reliability, wherever your photography takes you.

What fits in the FocusPoint RollTop Backpacks?

The Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop comes in two sizes, 22L and 30L, and is designed around real photographic kits. Both models balance compact size with room for laptops, accessories, and personal items.

The Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop 22L Backpack is ideal for smaller systems, street photographers, or anyone who values travelling light. It fits one APS-C or cropped body with four to seven lenses, or one compact full-frame body with two to three f/4 zooms, or four primes. A dedicated laptop compartment holds a 14-inch laptop, and the maximum lens size is a 70-200mm f/4. Typical configurations might include a Fuji X-series with a 50-140mm f/2.8, 16-55mm f/2.8, and 50mm f/1.2; or a Leica M11 paired with a 50mm, 35mm, and 90mm Summilux. Sony users might carry an A7C or A1 with fast primes from 14mm through 50mm, while Nikon shooters could pack a Z50 or Z6 with a versatile set of f/1.8 primes from 20mm to 85mm.

The Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop 30L Backpack is made for larger kits, professionals, or hybrid shooters who need extra capacity. It holds one ungripped full-frame body with two f/2.8 zooms, or the same body with three to five primes. The dedicated laptop sleeve takes a 16-inch laptop, while the bag itself supports lenses up to a 70-200mm f/2.8. In real-world use, that could mean a Nikon Z6 or Z8 with a 70-200mm f/2.8 and 24-70mm f/2.8; a Sony A7 or A1 paired with 14mm, 24mm, and 50mm primes; or a Canon R8 or R5 with a 24-105mm f/2.8, 10-20mm f/4, and 35mm f/1.8 Macro. The 30L also offers enough space for hybrid setups such as a Leica SL3-S with microphone and video lights, or even a medium-format Fujifilm GFX100SII with a 55mm f/1.7, 110mm f/2, and 23mm f/4.

Availability and prices

The Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop backpacks are available in 22L and 30L and come in Asphalt Black, Greenway, Urban Rust and Golden Hour colour options. Both models are available in October through authorised Think Tank retailers in the UK and Ireland. The Think Tank FocusPoint RollTop backpack 22L has a recommended retail price of £214.99 / €249.99 including VAT, and the bigger 30L version sells for £259.99 / €299.99 including VAT.
