Review: Six weeks with the Think Tank DarkLight 14L in southern England

Packing for a six-week photo trip can be challenging. Which backpack do you grab when your gear changes daily? Think Tank Ambassadors Karin and Markus of Fotonomaden chose the Think Tank DarkLight 14L, and it kept up with every single shoot.

The key? Its narrow yet tall design fits a camera with a 150-600mm telephoto lens in one piece. There's no need to separate the body and lens before every wildlife shot. This saves precious seconds when every moment counts. Despite its small size, it can also carry a tripod, water bottle, filter bag and snacks with ease.

The top quick-access compartment was invaluable on the move. From the narrow bridges of Lydford Gorge to the gardens of Ightham Mote, its compact size and easy accessibility kept things simple. The well-padded straps remained comfortable even over longer distances, and the side lashing strap kept the tripod firmly in place during long-exposure sessions at Old Harry Rocks.
