Eleven horses competed in the SWB Trophy presented by Hyperion Stud for 6-year-olds over 1.25-meter jumps. Experienced rider Niklas Arvidsson secured the win with the approved stallion and Young Horse World Championship finalist Caribbean Blue 1427 (HANN, stallion, born: 2018, by Chacoon Blue – Calido I, breeders: Sarah and Jan Glaubitt, owner: Stall Niklas Arvidsson AB). The pair won the 5-year-old class at the Champion of the Youngsters last year.
”I’ve never had a horse so consistent in its performance; I thought about quitting riding, but with Caribbean Blue, I’ve had to reconsider. He will be available for breeding this year,” says Niklas Arvidsson after the class.
Stephanie Holmén and last year’s Breeder Trophys fourth-placer Fudge (SWB) (by Bravour out of M&M (SWB) – Non Stop R. Breeder: Niclas Swerre, owner: WH Sporthorses) took a much deserved second place, and Victoria Almgren rode Young Horse World Championship participant HBJ Viva la Thunder (SWB) (by Crusader Ice (SWB) out of Viva la Vida (SWB) – Verdi. Breeders: Alexandra and Pia Prahl. Owner: Bäckatorp Showjumping AB) to a third place. Both horses have been sold to new riders, with Fudge being sold to the European Championship team gold medalist, Wilma Hellström.
