The family behind Sweden’s iconic Treehotel proudly introduces Villa Äng, an ultra-private, all-inclusive villa retreat in Harads, set in the heart of Arctic Sweden. Offering unmatched privacy, refined comfort, and tailor-made experiences, Villa Äng sets a new standard of Arctic luxury.

Led by the next generation of the Lindvall family, with Jenny Isaksson at the helm, Villa Äng blends the family’s heritage of warm Arctic hospitality with a modern vision. The villa opened to the international press in late December 2025, attracting significant global attention, and welcomed its first guests over Christmas, marking a new chapter in the Lindvalls’ legacy of Arctic luxury.

”Villa Äng is more than just a place to stay – it’s a personal invitation to feel at home in the Arctic, says the family.”

”Villa Äng is for multigenerational families or business groups who want to travel together, experience something extraordinary, and create shared memories – an experience of a lifetime.”

The villa’s design, created by architect Mats Öhman in collaboration with award-winning studio Stylt and built by local craftsmen Vittjärvshus, reflects its serene setting overlooking meadows and the Lule River. Villa Äng offers complete privacy for up to 10 guests across 400 square meters, with five bedrooms inspired by unique meadow plants, such as Arctic Raspberry.

These rooms celebrate both the plants’ role in nature and their Nordic folklore significance. The connection is deepened by Sweden’s famous botanist Carl von Linné, who traveled through Harads as part of his exploration of Lapland, later recording the region’s flora in his book Laponica.

Guests also enjoy a 25-square-meter master suite with a private hot tub, lounge, indoor sauna, kitchen, and dining areas – a harmonious retreat where nature, design, and storytelling meet.

”We’ve designed every element with heart and purpose, creating a space where guests can truly connect with nature, themselves, and each other.”

Wellness and relaxation are woven into the experience, with access to an indoor sauna, a wood-fired riverside sauna, and a heated outdoor hot tub where guests can soak beneath the northern lights. An open-air fireplace and dining area add to the serene setting, while a nearby natural cold spring provides exceptionally pure Arctic water.

Round-the-clock, discreet service includes a dedicated concierge and private chef who craft menus inspired by the surrounding meadow, forest, and river, complemented by a sommelier’s careful selection of beverages.

”Our chef uses local ingredients to create dishes with an international touch.”

Guests can immerse themselves in authentic Arctic adventures, from dog sledding and snowmobile tours to Sami cultural experiences, including storytelling, crafts, and reindeer encounters. These curated activities provide a deep connection to the region’s unique culture and landscape.

”We want guests to feel this is a special place. Everything they need is here, but the experience should feel different – a mix of science, mystique, and a true sense of place.”

At Villa Äng, Arctic hospitality is at the heart of everything. Pioneered by Kent and Britta, together with their daughter Jenny, it blends warmth, attentiveness, and a human touch, creating a home-like environment. From interiors and cuisine to nature and curated experiences, this philosophy flows through every corner, allowing guests to relax, connect, and be themselves.

Villa Äng is now welcoming its first guests – an exclusive opportunity to discover Arctic Sweden in a completely new way. By doing so, it strengthens Harads and Boden as a vibrant destination and a driving force in the local tourism industry, contributing to a lively and thriving community.

”At its heart, it’s about genuine care for people and making them feel at home. We stay true to ourselves, no matter who walks through the door.”
