Three premium sparkling non-alcoholic wines are now launched in the UK. Oddbird is launching its Blanc de Blancs and Sparkling Rosé wines from France and its Spumante from Italy, which are produced using traditional methods and then “liberated from alcohol” using a unique, patented vacuum distillation method.
Oddbird has produced these three high quality, zero-alcohol sparkling expressions to help the sober curious enjoy celebrations, parties, and special occasions. Available now from 31DOVER & Alcohol Free Company, as well as Amazon. Rolling out this summer to Harvey Nichols, Wise Bartender and other fine retailers.
Oddbird is the largest producer of wine liberated from alcohol in Scandinavia and the team are on a mission to transform and disrupt drinking culture and norms by creating world class beverages. To Oddbird, creating wine liberated from alcohol is a craft, shaped by tradition and made possible through innovation.
To produce Oddbird, the finest grapes from the best vineyards are selected at the right level of maturity and then fermented in the same way as sparkling wine to ensure Oddbird’s unique taste and high quality.
Oddbird is aged according to tradition in barrels or steel tanks for up to a year, so that the wine can reach its full potential and desired characteristics. The wine is then completely liberated from alcohol using a unique, patented vacuum distillation method that preserves the wine’s flavours and aromas – just as nature intended. No e-numbers, artificial colours or aromas are added to Oddbird and it contains on average one tenth of the calories in wine with alcohol.
"We are exceptionally pleased to be launching Oddbird in the UK. We at Oddbird believe that only by raising the bar for wines liberated from alcohol can we disrupt our drinking culture and drive the movement towards a more conscious world. That is why we focus on natural wine-making with minimal processing. Doing so takes time, passion and relentless attention to every detail - from the choice of grapes and vineyards, to fermentation, alcohol removal and bottling. Our vineyards are carefully selected to ensure a natural strength in the wines, which are able to survive the dealcoholising process without losing their unique character.” shares Moa Gürbüzer, who founded Oddbird in 2013.
Using grapes from the Italian province of Treviso located in Veneto, commonly known as the Prosecco region, Oddbird Spumante is made with traditional methods and 100% Glera grapes exclusively from DOC and DOCG vineyards. The wine is matured for up to 12 months and then gently liberated from alcohol to preserve its natural character.

On a mission to transform and disrupt our drinking culture by creating world class beverages - liberated from alcohol. Oddbird was founded in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, after working for 20 years as a sociologist and family therapist with a focus on alcohol-related problems. Her vision was to change society's alcohol norms and make the question 'Do you want the wine with or without alcohol?' as commonplace as "Do you want coffee with or without milk?" Today, Oddbird has grown into Sweden's largest producer of alcohol liberated wines and beverages – i.a. from the leading vineyards in France and Italy. The wines are traditionally aged for up to 12 months and then carefully liberated from alcohol with a patented method that preserves the wine's original character. www.oddbird.com
