Nordic Climate Group continues its expansion in the Netherlands by acquiring both Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko, based in Rotterdam. This acquisition strengthens Nordic Climate Group Netherlands B.V.'s position in the Netherlands and the group’s standing as a leading player in Northern Europe within cooling, heating, and energy solutions. Since its launch in the Netherlands in July 2024, Nordic Climate Group Netherlands B.V. has grown rapidly. Established in 2021, Nordic Climate Group operates in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands, generating SEK 5 billion in revenue and employing 1,800 people across more than 100 local entities.
Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko are two companies with the same ownership and management, operating as a single unit. Airvek, founded in 1979, is jointly led with Verhaar Gebeko by Andries van der Gaag, who joined in 1994. The companies are well-established in the Netherlands. Airvek focuses primarily on cooling, air conditioning, and air handling projects, from design to installation, for commercial clients. Verhaar Gebeko specializes in cooling solutions for healthcare facilities and marine customers. Together, the companies have 16 employees and generate €4.7 million in revenue.
“It is highly satisfying to enhance our Dutch operations with Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko. Their engineering expertise in indoor climate and the maritime sector is significant in further broadening the group's overall offering. Plans for additional acquisitions remain on track for 2025,” says Joseph Kuling, Chairman of Nordic Climate Group Netherlands B.V.
Together, Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko provide an attractive mix of services, ranging from design and installation to service and maintenance. This has given the companies a strong local market position and long-standing customer relationships.
“I have worked on developing air conditioning and air handling systems at Airvek since 1994. Our focus is on design, installation, and maintenance—helping the customer with the complete solution. Our development journey now takes the next step as we integrate both Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko into Nordic Climate Group. It’s a natural and inspiring move that brings new opportunities for our business and employees,” says Andries van der Gaag, CEO of Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko.
Andries van der Gaag will continue in his leadership roles with the same customer focus and goals. The added value is that Airvek and Verhaar Gebeko can now collaborate with colleagues within Nordic Climate Group, both in the Netherlands and in other countries with sister companies.
Nordic Climate Group's mission is to help its customers minimize their climate footprint and maximize energy efficiency. The plan is to continue building a leading company in Northern Europe with strong growth, both organically and through further acquisitions. The business model is based on entrepreneurial strength, decentralized operational units, and collaboration in business/procurement, staff training, and sharing of technical expertise.
