Aurora Cannabis Continues Growth Trajectory in Leuna

With a workforce of 55 employees, the company will more than double its production capacity for medical cannabis flower at the site. The expansion and the facility’s new name, Aurora Horizon, were announced during a company celebration.
Aurora is one of three cannabis producers in Germany operating on an industrial scale. Its products are manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for medicinal products. This requires consistently high quality and uniform THC content, based on the genetics of specially selected plants developed by its parent company in Edmonton, Canada. Medical cannabis is distributed primarily through pharmacies. At the Leuna Chemical Park, the pioneering company found the ideal conditions for its operations, including security infrastructure, skilled workers and proximity to an airport, facilitating worldwide distribution.
