The Netherlands, 14 July 2026 – Following the closure of NorderSpack B.V. and Perserij Harlingen B.V., the complete, fully automated production facility in Harlingen is being offered for sale as a single lot through Troostwijk Auctions. The facility is designed to process sunflower seeds and rapeseed into vegetable oil for the food industry. Interested parties can submit a sealed bid until 10:00 a.m. on 8 September 2026.
At the production site on Marconistraat in Harlingen, organic sunflower seeds and rapeseed were processed into vegetable oil. The oil was used in the food industry. The material remaining after pressing, known as press cake, was also utilised as a raw material for the animal feed industry.
NorderSpack B.V. owns and leases the real estate and machinery. Perserij Harlingen B.V. was responsible for the operational business activities.
The facility was designed for a continuous cold-pressing process and could be operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The installation includes eight seed silos with a combined storage capacity of approximately 3,500 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 5,000 tonnes of rapeseed, a complete system for drying, cleaning and transporting the seeds, fifteen Reinartz cold-pressing machines, stainless-steel storage tanks, and installations for the filtration and further processing of the oil. The complete press cake handling system, process control system, compressed-air installation, transformers and other technical infrastructure are also included in the sale.
The entire production site is being offered for sale in a single transaction. The production line, associated installations and technical infrastructure will not be sold separately, but together form one single lot.
According to Sjoerd Baars, Team Lead Insolvency at Troostwijk Auctions, this presents opportunities for producers and investors seeking a complete production facility or looking to expand their existing production capacity.
“What makes this sale special is that it is not just individual machines that are becoming available, but an entire factory offered as a single lot. This gives a buyer the opportunity to acquire a complete production environment and potentially bring the existing installations back into operation at a new location.”
Interested parties can submit a sealed bid for the entire factory. Bidders are invited to submit their best offer confidentially before the stated deadline. The bids will not be visible to other interested parties.
The sale reflects the international demand for used industrial production assets. By reusing an existing factory, companies may be able to establish additional production capacity more quickly, while extending the service life of the machines and installations already in place.
The factory was commissioned in 2008 to press rapeseed for biofuel production. In 2015, the company switched to processing organically certified sunflower seeds for the food industry. These activities continued until the site closed in March 2026. As the factory processed only organic seeds and sufficient volumes of the required raw materials could no longer be secured, the decision was made to discontinue production.
The preference is to sell the factory as a complete facility and, ideally, to continue operations in Harlingen. The real estate may also be included in the discussions if desired. Should the site be given a different use, the hope is that the factory can be given a second life elsewhere and remain in operation for many years to come.
The complete production facility of NorderSpack B.V. and Perserij Harlingen B.V. is being offered as a single lot through Troostwijk Auctions.
