Celebrate the Planet, Celebrate the People, Celebrate the Game. This was the theme for a magnificent Opening Ceremony of the Partille World Cup at Scandinavium Arena on Tuesday evening. It was a tribute to the tens of thousands of young people participating in the tournament, who can drive our world in a sustainable direction.
The Opening Ceremony at Scandinavium is a celebration of international friendship. This year was no exception. Joy, music, dance, flags, and an enormous sound backdrop from youth handball players from various countries in the stands.
Nation after nation marched onto the stage, this year 36 in total, before 10,190 cheering spectators. Each nation represented by a team in the Partille World Cup.
– The Opening Ceremony symbolizes the once-in-a-lifetime experience that the Partille World Cup offers. Through our concept Celebrate, we collaborate with all participants towards sustainable development. This was truly celebrated in this year's show, says Fredrik Andersson, Secretary General of the Partille World Cup.
We are creating the world’s largest meeting place for young handball players. A place independent of ethnicity, culture, or gender. A meeting place where mutual respect and understanding are the foundation, and playing handball with thousands of other young people is the tool to fulfill our dreams.
