LUND, SWEDEN
Emulsi Biotech, a pioneering life science company specializing in technology for advanced drug delivery, today announced the successful closing of a 7 million SEK pre-seed funding round. The investment round was led by BSV Ventures, with active participation from Almi Invest and two prominent angel investors.

Oral drug delivery remains the holy grail for biological drugs, which are traditionally restricted to injections due to poor bioavailability and harsh gastrointestinal environments. Emulsi Biotech’s proprietary lipid-based technology aims to overcome these historical barriers, offering a non-invasive, patient-friendly alternative

The newly secured capital will be primarily deployed to validate Emulsi Biotech’s novel oral drug delivery platform through in vivo studies. This critical milestone aims to demonstrate the technology's efficacy and safety, paving the way for future clinical development and transforming how complex biological therapies are administered.

"Emulsi Biotech is tackling one of few pharma’s most persistent challenges - effective oral drug delivery - with their developed technology, and at BSV Ventures we're proud to support the team as they scale this science to market." - BSV Ventures

"Securing our first venture capital round is a massive achievement, but it also comes with a great responsibility. We are incredibly excited to bring Emulsi Biotech one step closer to the market, and this pre-seed round is a monumental first step towards achieving that vision." - Eimantas Gladkauskas, CEO and Co-founder of Emulsi Biotech

Eimantas has made an impressive transition from researcher to CEO, combining scientific excellence with strong leadership. Emulsi's technology has the potential to solve one of the pharmaceutical industry's biggest challenges. The benefits could be significant for both patients, who may gain easier access to treatments, and drug developers, who could achieve the same therapeutic effect with lower doses." - Thomas Areschoug, Business Development Coach at SmiLe Venture Hub.

With the successful completion of this round, Emulsi Biotech is poised to accelerate its laboratory operations in Lund's world-class biotechnology ecosystem and expand its research capabilities ahead of the upcoming in vivo trials.
