Väderstad upgrades Tempo V with 4‑section fertiliser control and improved tractor visibility

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, introduces important updates to the Tempo V 6–12 planter family when operated together with the front hopper FH 2200. The upgrades focus on even higher fertiliser precision, improved operator visibility and easier machine setup.

For Model Year 2027 the front hopper, FH 2200, will be available with four Fenix III metering units. This enables section control as well as variable rate control for fertiliser in four sections. This allows an even more precise fertiliser application, matching varying field conditions and headlands, while reducing overlap and input costs.

– With 4‑section fertiliser control, we take another step towards even higher agronomic precision. Farmers can now apply fertiliser where it is needed, improving crop establishment while optimising fertiliser output, says Oskar Karlsson, Vice President Product & Development Planters, at Väderstad.

Alongside the new metering system on FH 2200, Väderstad has redesigned the fertiliser tube routing between the tractor and the planter. Previously, the tubes were mounted along the side of the tractor, partially affecting visibility from the cab. For model year 2027, the four fertiliser tubes are now routed underneath the tractor, significantly improving visibility and creating a cleaner, more integrated machine setup.

At the rear of the machine, the previous elevated distributor head on Tempo V has been replaced by four distributors positioned closer to the machine frame. This new layout contributes to improved distribution, simplified mounting and a more compact overall design.

– The combination of the new tube routing and the redesigned distributor heads makes the machine easier to handle, quicker to set up and more comfortable to operate from the cab. The new routing also means a shorter and smoother transport distance of the fertiliser, which in turn results in drastically reducing the delay time. This is important to increase accuracy even further when adjusting the fertiliser output on the go, says Oskar Karlsson.

Tempo V 6-12 features Väderstads new‑generation row unit, designed to deliver high‑speed planting precision and performance – seed by seed, row by row. The updated Tempo V 6–12 with FH 2200 will be available to order from June 2026, with serial production starting in October 2026.
