Mark Humphreys appointed new CEO of Tengbom

Tengbom’s Board of Directors has appointed Mark Humphreys as the company’s new CEO. He will assume the role in September 2026.

As an architect and leader of Tengbom’s largest office, Mark Humphreys has played a key role in driving the company forward for many years – both in terms of its offering and the organisation as a whole. His leadership is characterised by a close connection between architecture, collaboration and organisational development.

— Mark has a unique ability to develop people, projects and organisations alike. He is an exceptionally skilled architect, but also a leader who builds strong teams and creates an environment where others can develop. That makes him the right person to lead Tengbom into the future, says Olof Sand, Chairman of the Board at Tengbom.

Since April 2025, Olof Sand has served as Executive Chairman with operational responsibility. When Mark Humphreys takes up the position as CEO, Olof Sand will return fully to his role as Chairman of the Board.

Mark Humphreys is an award-winning architect with 30 years of experience from Sweden, the UK and the US. He has worked on major projects including the temporary market hall on Östermalm’s Square, the Arlanda VIP Terminal and the refurbishment of Östermalm Market Hall. For many years, Mark Humphreys has led Tengbom’s Stockholm office, combining architectural excellence with a strong commercial focus.

— I come from the projects and from the business itself. I love being an architect, and I strongly believe in the role of architecture in society. For me, the role of CEO is about continuing to develop what Tengbom already does well – creating beautiful architecture that works in people’s everyday lives, exceeds our client’s expectations and contributes to positive societal development, says Mark Humphreys.

As CEO, Mark Humphreys aims to further strengthen Tengbom’s architectural practice and continue building a culture where people and teams can grow together.
