Logent and Volvo Cars extend long term partnership for packaging operations in Gothenburg

Logent and Volvo Cars are extending their longstanding partnership for packaging operations in Gothenburg through 2030. The extended agreement reinforces a strategic collaboration that has developed over more than a decade and plays a key role in supporting Volvo Cars production operations with efficient and reliable logistics solutions.

The partnership began in 2014, when Logent supported Volvo Cars during the separation of shared logistics solutions between Volvo Cars and Volvo Group. As the cooperation evolved, operations were further developed and, in 2017, relocated to a new, tailormade and automated warehouse in Låssby, located close to Volvo Cars Torslanda car plant.

Today, Logent employs more than 100 people at the Låssby site. The packaging operations run in three shifts, fully aligned with the production schedules of the car plant, ensuring high availability, precision and continuity in Volvo Cars’ material flows.

Over the years, Logent and Volvo Cars have worked closely together to continuously develop the packaging operations. Logent is currently working on the introduction of new packaging solutions for Volvo Cars’ upcoming models. The extended agreement enables further investments in automation and process development, supporting efficiency and quality improvements, and secure operations in the long term.

This continued development is also reflected in Volvo Cars’ view of the partnership.

“We are pleased to extend our partnership with Logent, a trusted partner in supporting our production operations in Gothenburg,” says Gustav Vegelius, Senior Buyer Contract Logistics EMEA at Volvo Cars. “This agreement strengthens our ability to drive efficiency, quality and stability in our material flows, while enabling a smooth ramp-up and production start of our upcoming car models with a robust and flexible logistics setup.”

The extended agreement provides a strong platform for further joint development and supports Volvo Cars’ ambition to ensure an efficient, highquality and futureready logistics setup for its production operations.

“The partnership with Volvo Cars has been very successful, built on trust and close collaboration,” says Joel Engström, CEO of Logent. “I am both proud and happy about the continued confidence Volvo Cars places in us. It shows that the daily work of our local team, supported by our central expertise, is creating real value for our customer.”
