Hollyland announces Pyro Ultra, the new flagship in the Pyro series, featuring next-generation wireless video transmission built for professional production environments. Pyro Ultra combines one-to-many transmission, native 4K/60fps support, and a dedicated ultra-low-latency mode for focus pulling. Fully integrated into the Pyro ecosystem and equipped with DFS-ready operation, it is designed to meet the demands of modern digital cinema workflows.
One-to-many on-set transmission
On today's productions, the video village is no longer confined to a single monitor. Directors, assistants, clients, and multiple departments need simultaneous access to the live image across different positions on set.
Pyro Ultra's Broadcast Mode addresses this by enabling a single transmitter to connect with an unlimited number of receivers, creating a more fluid on-set workflow. Every department, from lighting to hair and makeup, can monitor independently, helping eliminate bottlenecks and speed up decision-making. Stable performance is ensured with up to 20 receivers depending on the environment.
4K/60fps transmission
Image integrity is central to Pyro Ultra. The system supports native 4K/60fps transmission with the detail and colour accuracy required for high-end production work. It also supports fractional frame rates including 23.98 and 59.94 fps, commonly used in broadcast and professional pipelines. Native compatibility with switchers and monitors means no external converters are needed, simplifying the signal path and reducing potential points of failure.
20ms latency for focus pulling
For first assistant camera operators and focus pullers, every millisecond counts. Pyro Ultra's dedicated Focus Mode reduces latency to 20ms, delivering the real-time responsiveness needed for precise adjustments at any distance. This makes the system practical for tight spaces, complex choreography, and any situation where timing is critical.
TWiFi technology and DFS support
At the core of Pyro Ultra is Hollyland's TWiFi dual-band wireless technology. It uses intelligent frequency management across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with automatic hopping, maintaining a stable, high-bitrate connection even in congested RF environments. The system supports line-of-sight range up to 1.5 km.
Pyro Ultra is also Hollyland's first DFS-enabled product. Dynamic Frequency Selection opens access to additional 5 GHz channels that are typically less congested, giving professional crews more reliable and globally compliant operation in demanding locations.
Built for modern workflows
Pyro Ultra supports UVC (USB Video Class) for direct computer connection without a capture card, and RTMP for streaming directly to web platforms, simplifying remote collaboration. As part of the Pyro ecosystem, Pyro Ultra integrates with existing Pyro devices, allowing production teams to scale their setups based on project requirements without rebuilding established workflows.
