Ingrid, the leading Nordic flexibility and grid-tech company, has been selected as one of the global partner companies for UNESCO World Engineering Day 2026. Through the "Engineering in Action" platform - organised by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) in partnership with UNESCO - Ingrid's partner story "Greening the Grid" is featured alongside companies such as Airbus, Dassault Systèmes, Arcadis and Adani Group.
The recognition is awarded under UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 - affordable and clean energy - and highlights how Ingrid combines grid-scale energy storage, advanced optimisation and market intelligence to create the flexibility that existing power grids need as electrification accelerates across Europe.
"Being selected for UNESCO World Engineering Day is an important recognition of what we are building at Ingrid. The energy system is becoming more complex, and our job is to make that complexity invisible - through intelligent infrastructure and software that lets the grid adapt in real time. This recognition reinforces that our approach matters, not just in the Nordics but on a global scale," says Axel Holmberg, CEO at Ingrid.
The World Engineering Day partnership runs throughout 2026. Ingrid's full partner story is available at worldengineeringday.net/partner/ingrid.
About UNESCO World Engineering Day
UNESCO World Engineering Day is organised by WFEO in partnership with UNESCO to celebrate engineering's contributions toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative features a year-long campaign of events, films and articles showcasing how engineering is driving sustainable development and human progress globally. The future runs on electricity, but the system behind it is stuck in the past. Ingrid builds the infrastructure and software that make the power grid more intelligent, helping accelerate a resilient and clean energy transition. Our solutions include grid-scale energy storage, advanced optimisation for battery systems and renewable assets, green energy supply and offtake structures, and innovative grid services. By increasing grid flexibility, stabilising power flows, and improving the utilisation of existing infrastructure, we help reduce grid bottlenecks, support the integration of new renewable generation, and contribute to more stable, lower electricity prices. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Stockholm, Ingrid has 70+ employees, operates across the Nordics and is expanding throughout Europe. As of Q4 2025, we have more than 650 MWh of storage in operation or under construction, and over 250 MWh of assets optimised through our in-house trading and optimisation platform.
