SKELLEFTEÅ, SWEDEN – Preparations are well underway for the next Euro Mine Expo, scheduled for 26–28 May, 2026. As one of Europe’s most dynamic hubs for the mining industry, the event continues to strengthen its position as a premier meeting place for decision-makers, researchers, and technology companies.

Reflecting the massive interest in the 2026 edition, the exhibition is already fully booked, boasting a prestigious lineup of industry sponsors including Boliden, LKAB, Metso, Sandvik, RPM Global, and Santasalo.

Registration for visitors and conference delegates opened on 20 January. Due to the high demand, organizers strongly advise participants to book their tickets and accommodation immediately upon registration to secure their stay in Skellefteå.

“Euro Mine Expo is where the future of mining takes form. Here, decision-makers, researchers, and technology companies meet to share experiences and create collaborations that drive the industry forward,” says Sinnika Sjunnesson, Project Manager for Euro Mine Expo.

A Global Hub for Innovation

Held in Skellefteå, known as the "Gold City", the expo is situated in a region with a world-class industrial sector and a rich mining heritage. With approximately 200 exhibitors and over 2,000 visitors expected, half of whom hold decision-making roles, the event serves as a critical epicentre for industry excellence.

Following the 2024 event that attracted delegates from over 40 countries, the 2026 edition aims for even broader international participation.

“Many Swedish companies are at the forefront of innovation and mining methods. We are convinced that combining a high-class trade fair with a world-class conference is a recipe for success,” adds Sjunnesson.

Conference Highlights: Safety and Electrification in Focus

A new feature this year is that the conference is open to everyone attending Euro Mine Expo, and the 2026 conference programme delves deep into three critical themes: Innovation & Technology, Social Responsibility, and Workplace Safety. Highlights include:

  • Workplace Safety: Daniela Witt, Director of Health and Safety at Metso, will present strategies for fostering a proactive safety culture. Additionally, Emma Östberg and Camilla Martinsson from Boliden will showcase "Blast Safe" at the Aitik mine, a digital evacuation system that recently won the Silver Euromines Safety Award 2025.
  • The Electric Shift: Dr. Peter Wallin from Boliden will share lessons from the company’s electrification journey, including the fully electric Rävliden mine, while Per Lärk from ABB will discuss how the "all-electric mine" is delivering big performance gains today.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Frank Kassing of David Brown Santasalo and representatives from LKAB will discuss the practical benefits and maintenance efficiency gained from segmented girth gear technology.

Enhanced Experience and Networking

The 2026 event features a hybrid conference model, allowing global access to sessions both live and on-demand. Beyond the sessions, the social calendar remains a cornerstone of the expo.

“Relationships aren't just built in the booths. The evenings are equally important,” Sjunnesson notes.

The popular social events return, including the Get Together & Mingle and the Mining & Dining gala dinner at the iconic Sara kulturhus, which will feature a show designed to get everyone on the dance floor.

A Platform for Collaboration

Organized by Nolia, Euro Mine Expo covers the entire value chain—from exploration and mining to remediation and recycling.

“For us, it is about strengthening Northern Europe as a mining region and showing what sustainable mining looks like in practice,” says Jonas Dahlberg, CEO of Nolia.

Euro Mine Expo 2026 takes place May 26–28 at Skellefteå Kraft Arena.
