InfiMotion Awarded ISO 26262 ASIL D Process Certification – the Highest Functional Safety Rating

ISO 26262 certification

InfiMotion has officially obtained the ISO 26262:2018 Functional Safety ASIL D Process Certification issued by SGS in Wuxi China!

This certification signifies that InfiMotion has established a fully compliant, mature, and reliable product development and management process system in accordance with the highest requirements of international automotive functional safety standards. Its R&D capabilities in functional safety for core e-drive systems now rank among the world's leading levels.

ISO 26262:2018 is a globally recognized standard for the functional safety of automotive electrical and electronic systems, covering the entire product lifecycle – including key stages such as functional safety management, system development, software and hardware implementation, verification and testing, and production delivery. Among its safety grades, ASIL D (Automotive Safety Integrity Level D) represents the highest safety rating, applicable to core systems directly related to personal safety such as braking, steering, and e-drive systems. The certification features extremely high thresholds, requiring hundreds of rigorous process audits and documentation verifications.

The certification project spanned one year, with full guidance from a team of experts at SGS's Global Functional Safety Technology Center. Centering on its core e-drive, electronic control, and motor products, InfiMotion systematically restructured and optimized its R&D process system, establishing a complete workflow encompassing functional safety management, technical safety concept design, system safety architecture design, safety mechanism definition, software and hardware functional safety implementation, safety analysis, safety verification, and continuous improvement. A total of 200 functional safety documents were generated, ensuring each link meets ASIL D standards' requirements for traceability, completeness, rigor, and consistency, thereby effectively guaranteeing product safety.

At Infimontion, Safety Drives the Future.

A relevant person in charge at SGS stated: "Amid the accelerating innovation of intelligent automotive technologies, the ISO 26262 standard has become a 'universal guideline' for automakers to produce safe vehicles and a key entry threshold for automotive supply chain manufacturers. We are honored to award InfiMotion the ISO 26262:2018 Automotive Functional Safety ASIL D Certification, and delighted to witness more enterprises across various sectors contributing to the safety of intelligent vehicles."

Commenting on the certification, Dr. Yu Haisheng from InfiMotion noted: "Safety is an uncompromisable bottom line for electric vehicles and the starting point of our technological innovation. Obtaining the ASIL D professional certification marks a new milestone in fulfilling our mission of 'Safety Drives the Future.' This system will be integrated into the full-link R&D of every generation of our high-performance e-drive products, ensuring that what we deliver to every user is a product that excels in both performance and safety."

The successful acquisition of this certification not only affirms InfiMotion's R&D efforts but also serves as a "passport" for the company to shape the future through technology and actively compete in the global top-tier supply chain. As the automotive industry advances deeper into the "New Four Modernizations" (electrification, intelligence, connectivity, and sharing), the e-drive system – as the "heart" of the vehicle – has become increasingly crucial in terms of functional safety. With this certification, InfiMotion will continue to pursue breakthroughs and innovations, delivering safer, more efficient, and smarter mobility experiences to global users.
