The choice of Joinville as home for its Brazilian office makes sense given Nord-Lock Group’s status as the provider of bolting technologies used in almost every industry throughout the world. As the largest city in the Santa Catarina region, Joinville is one of the country’s main commercial and industrial centres.
Additionally, Joinville’s nearby airport and seaports will—according to Gediael Bernardes, Regional Sales Manager for Latin America at Nord-Lock Group—make it easier to assist and coordinate with distributors, partners, and others. “This new office brings us closer to our customers and allows us to provide faster, better service with local inventory, logistics, and support,” he explains.
Yet there’s more to the recently inaugurated headquarters of Nord-Lock Brazil than just the advantages of its location. The office itself is a modern, functional space that’s meant to inspire employees and visitors alike. Intended to reflect the values of the Nord-Lock Group, it’s designed to be a welcoming environment where collaboration and innovation can thrive.
“We wanted to bring a piece of the Nord-Lock spirit to Joinville—so we can feel at home and live our company vision,” says Bernardes.
Beyond opening its Joinville office, Nord-Lock Group has implemented additional measures to build up a presence in Brazil.
The company has officially established a legal entity in the country, which enables direct purchasing of its bolting solutions on a local level. This has simplified the buying process and eliminated several hurdles to importing Nord-Lock Group’s global brands—Nord-Lock®, Superbolt®, Boltight®, and Expander®[3] —in Brazil. As a result, lead times have been reduced and the company’s products are more accessible than ever.
The Nord-Lock Group also had a booth at one of the country's leading industrial exhibitions, EXPOMAFE. Organized by the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry, the trade show is considered a key event for Latin America’s metalworking sector, as well as a major showcase for the latest technology and trends in machine tools, industrial automation, and more. This year’s EXPOMAFE was held in May at São Paulo Expo, where Nord-Lock Group connected with customers from across Brazil and Latin America.
These initiatives—opening a new office in Joinville, establishing a corporate entity, and participating as an exhibitor at EXPOMAFE—are key for setting up operations in Brazil, but they also highlight Nord-Lock Group’s strategic commitment to the wider region.
“This marks an important step in our growth in Latin America,” says Andreas Maile, Global Business Development Director of BU Nord-Lock. “We’re excited to be closer to our customers and to strengthen our presence in this key region.”
The Nord-Lock Group believes that no one should have to question the integrity of the mechanical systems that play such a critical role in our way of life. As a global leader in bolting solutions, we strengthen public and industrial infrastructures with high-quality, safe and innovative solutions that will change the face of modern living for decades to come.
