A Partnership Brewed in Sustainability: Lawson’s Finest Liquids and Casella

Lawson's Finest Liquids

Lawson’s Finest Liquids and Casella are showcasing what’s possible when sustainability is a shared value. Since opening their brewery and taproom in Waitsfield, Vermont in 2018, the Lawson’s team has put environmental stewardship at the forefront of their operations. Through an ongoing partnership with Casella, they’ve achieved an impressive 97 percent diversion rate, ensuring that nearly all materials are recovered, reused, or properly processed.

“Our partnership with Casella has enabled us to thoughtfully create the sustainability goals that we have in our company,” said Karen Lawson, co-owner of Lawson's Finest Liquids. “And working with the team has enabled us to create a diversion rate that we are so proud of."

By rethinking common waste streams, from stretch wrap and malt bags to misprinted cans, this partnership has built a blueprint for what resourcefulness and collaboration look like in the craft brewing industry. Together, we're closing loops, recovering resources, and reimagining waste not as an afterthought, but as an opportunity to recycle better.
