Ricoh Announces Development of New Ricoh GR IV Camera
Ricoh GR IVRicoh announces the development of the new Ricoh GR IV. The upcoming model continues the core concept of the GR series, while introducing several major upgrades to enhance image quality and user experience.
The Ricoh GR IV will feature an all-new lens, a newly designed image sensor, and a new imaging engine. These updates are designed to deliver even better image quality while staying true to the GR series’ core values: high image quality, quick response, and portability.
The camera will also offer improved connectivity, with advanced communication functions and compatibility with a new smart device application that will enhance operability and expand functionality.
A design sample of the Ricoh GR IV will be on display at GR Space in Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai starting Saturday, May 31, 2025. GR Space serves as a gallery, bookstore, and community hub for GR fans, where visitors can try out and purchase GR-series cameras.
The official launch of the Ricoh GR IV is scheduled for Autumn 2025.
Ricoh is also developing a new mobile app, GR World, which will support all GR-series models released after the Ricoh GR II.
Additionally, a new GR-series model featuring an HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter) is currently in development and will be released following the Ricoh GR IV.
