SmiLe Venture Hub is pleased to welcome Malin Sjöö back to SmiLe as she assumes the newly established role of Chief Innovation Officer. Malin Sjöö will be responsible for further developing SmiLe’s foodtech operations and leading the work of the coaching team.
With a solid background in research, company development, and business development coaching for early-stage companies, Malin Sjöö will be a significant asset to the startups within SmiLe Venture Hub.
During her research career at Lund University, Malin Sjöö developed an innovative emulsifying agent, which she later refined within her own startup. The company participated in SmiLe’s incubator program and was later acquired by an international player in the cosmetics and food ingredients sector.
Following her time as a founder and CEO, she continued as a business development coach at SmiLe before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a Danish startup associated with BioInnovation Institute in Denmark, an initiative for startups supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
In her new role at SmiLe Venture Hub, Malin Sjöö will focus on advancing SmiLe’s initiatives for foodtech startups, strengthening structures and programs that support these companies, and managing SmiLe’s EU projects in this area. Additionally, she will lead SmiLe’s coaching team.
