Novige this year's Swedish Mission Innovation Champion
The Mission Innovation Champions Award was created in connection with the climate conference in Paris in 2015. The award is a global initiative consisting of 24 countries and the European Commission. Last year’s innaugural Swedish winner was, Azelio - which has developed a system for energy storage. This year, the wave power company Novige was selected by a jury consisting of professors and doctoral researchers with heavy expertise in renewable energy. The jury chose Novige’s work to extract energy from the sea, something that many have tried over the years without achieving financial sustainability. Calculations show that NoviOcean’s demonstration cost (LCoE) will be about 90 EUR/MWh directly from the start, with further improvements forecast.
